Swire Properties Placemaking Academy

In 2025, the SPPA selected 10 university students across Hong Kong.

During their apprenticeship, they gained valuable skills and knowledge that dovetailed with the Company’s long-term goals in the areas of placemaking, innovation and sustainable development.

They took part in:

• Masterclasses:
Totalling nearly 80 hours; lectures by industry experts and our department heads.

• On-job Training and Mentorship:
Students were given mentoring and on-the-job training by our senior management, event-planning experts, and thought leaders for event planning and execution.

• Talent Retention:
Offering SPPA Alumni with work opportunities from the greater Swire Properties community after the programme. Until now, we have provided job opportunities in various projects of Swire Properties for more than 28 outstanding alumni.

The Placemaking Academy Junior Programme for secondary school students, a collaboration between the SPPA and the Eastern District Office’s E-League Programme, returned for its third year in 2025.

5 secondary school students from the Eastern District received training from Swire Properties’ senior management and professional public speakers.

The team underwent practical training throughout the programme to develop their communication skills and prepare to host the event, ultimately serving as the emcees at the White Christmas Street Fair 2025.

Swire Properties' White Christmas Street Fair 2025
“Colour the Season” – Illuminating Hope in the Community

Swire Properties’ annual White Christmas Street Fair returned to Taikoo Place from 11 to 14 December 2025. In light of the Tai Po tragedy, the Street Fair was dedicated to supporting those affected. Through acts of giving and solidarity, the event aimed to bring hope and strength for brighter days ahead.

Designed and created by ten local university students from Swire Properties Placemaking Academy’s (SPPA) 2025 cohort, the Street Fair drew inspiration from Hong Kong’s iconic neon lights and reflected creativity, resilience and empathy under the theme “Colour the Season – LIGHTS OF HOPE.” In response to the Tai Po tragedy, the students have reimagined the event, transforming vibrant colours into symbols of hope and solidarity for the community.

The event organised fundraising activities across Tong Chong Street, Taikoo Square and Taikoo Park to support Operation Santa Claus and its network of NGOs. In addition, Swire Properties matched every dollar raised to support Tai Po relief efforts, which will be directed to Sheng Kung Hui Act of Love 1126 Fire Disaster Support Fund and St. James’ Settlement to provide emergency relief and recovery assistance.
